GARDEN MAKEOVER

Tina & Stumpy

When I visited this customer their brief was for a low maintenance garden, keeping planting down to a minimum and allowing for a space to place pots with plants.
Grass was a no and the artificial grass created a lovely space for the grandchildren to enjoy while visiting. We installed a new composite deck area in place of the old wood deck and extended it further into the garden.
We brought the levels down from the back of the garden and created a wood sleeper boundary for definition and an area of decorative stones to place pots.
A small 600mm path was created along the back of the conservatory with a seating area. The old bamboo screen was removed and we created a contemporary horizontal fence by fixing vertical timbers to the existing concrete posts which allowed us to fix the slats.
To complete the transformation lighting was added to give a warm ambience for evening socialising.

GARDEN MAKEOVER

Jack & Clare

Our customers brief was to turn their garden into a modern easy to maintain area for them to sit out in and chill with friends or quietly read a book.
The old paving, grass and weeds gave no motivation to enter the garden and couldn’t be enjoyed. A small grass area was wanted to allow an area for their lovely pet dog.
We cleared the site and set upon laying a porcelain patio edged with a lovely darker grey block for contrast, we created a smaller step down area near the shed so Jack could gain easy access to his shed.
Out client has since enjoyed many days and evenings quietly enjoying their new outdoor living space in addition some lovely times socialising with friends and family.
This is what makes us do what we do at Down to Earth Home and Garden and it’s hard to describe the feeling and joy we have knowing we have made a difference.

GARDEN MAKEOVER

John & Linda

Down to Earth Home and Garden were called in on this project and the brief was to work with the existing garden and help create something a bit more special and inviting for our customer.
It was clear from the outset that when standing in the garden there was little structure in terms of height and your eye had nowhere to go.
Our suggestion was to draw up a plan that created some height into the garden, some raised beds which worked perfectly because it offered a perfect solution to allow Linda to tend to her flower beds.
The placement of the pergola and beds gives the illusion of creating spaces that you now have to walk through to see the full affect, which the customer loves. We created an additional pathway to the back of one of the beds that leads to a smaller patio area for BBQs and additional socialising.
The raised corner bed fills the corner and makes beautiful flower beds to be enjoyed while relaxing on the garden sofa.
Finally the lighting adds that touch of evening ambience which is essential to relax and entertain family and friends during those lovely summer evenings.
